5 feel-good movies for date night: Big 1988 movie poster

Big (1988)

In this movie, Tom Hanks played as Adult Josh Baskin, a young boy who makes a wish “to be big” and is then aged to adulthood overnight. If you’ve watched 13 going on 30, this is its predecessor. But we think this one is much better because of Tom Hanks. He successfully embodies the boy character in an adult body, and there are a lot of sweet, swoon-worthy scenes in the movie.

The Intouchables 2011 movie poster

The Intouchables (2011)

A story about an improbable friendship of a disabled aristocrat on a wheelchair, and a young, troubled man from the street who is hired as his caretaker. Their relationship is hard before it gets better, and probably you will be able to tell how the story goes, but it doesn’t make it less lovely to watch.

5 feel-good movies for date night: The Birdcage 1996 movie poster

The Birdcage (1966)

We love Robin Williams! He was a brilliant actor and performer. In addition to that, a lot of movies that he played were feel-good movies. This one tells a story about a gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion, whose son wants to introduce them to his fiancĂ©e’s right-wing moralistic parents. Yes, it has the typical happy-ending Hollywood movie, but the performance of Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, and Hank Azaria won’t fail to entertain you.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off 1986 movie poster

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)

Everyone seems to agree that this movie is a teenage movie that defines a generation. The young Matthew Broderick played as Ferris Bueller, a charming, high-school boy who tricks his parents to have a day off from school by faking sickness. Ferris then goes to have a day adventure with his best friend, Cameron, and girlfriend Sloane on a car ride in the city of Chicago.

5 feel-good movies for date night: Be Kind Rewind 2008 movie poster

Be Kind Rewind (2008)

Jack Black and Mos Def played two store clerks inadvertently erase the footage from all of the tapes in their video rental store. To make up for their mistakes, they remake every film in the store with their own camera. You might be familiar with director Michel Gondry’s other movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This movie is totally different: light and comedic, instead of deep, brooding romantic. We also think that this movie is underrated and should get more appreciation!
