Continuing on the previous post, our first date as well as the first time we met was at a small, rustic Italian restaurant on the side of a busy street. It was an outdoor restaurant, and the evening was warm. The food was authentic since the owner was Italian. One downside of the place was that the lighting was dim, so it was a bit dark.
I arrived early, and I specifically chose to sit at the table next to the entrance, facing the street. My intention was to be able to see Paul when he arrived. He was a few minutes late, so I decided to scroll on my phone while waiting. Because I was busy scrolling, I missed him when he walked into the place, haha.
At first, I wasn’t sure if it was her. Her face looked stern, and she was occupied with her phone. I texted to tell her that I had arrived. At that moment, I was reluctant because I thought she’d be a serious person, and I wouldn’t know what to say.
First impression: he was super tall! I felt like a midget next to him. He also had a pretty smile. I offered a hug, but he stuck out his hand for a shake. It was a bit awkward, haha. We had never met before, so it was understandable. We ordered carbonara pasta and a bowl of salad to share. In the beginning, he was somewhat quiet for some reason, perhaps it was because of the heat, or something else. I dominated the conversation at first, but everything else went smoothly afterward.
I was uncomfortable because the place was loud. It was a bit hard to catch what she was saying amid the noises from the street. And I wasn’t that hungry. Despite all that, talking with Jessica was easy. She was not only pretty, but she was also smart. When we finished our dinner, I still wanted to continue the conversation, but I was itching to get out of the place and find somewhere quiet.
The postponed kiss
I remembered there was a bar nearby that Italian restaurant, so I told Paul that maybe we could move there. I hope it was quieter than the restaurant, but when we arrived, it was really packed. He told me earlier that noisy places wore him down, and I was afraid he wanted to leave, but he didn’t. We stayed until the bar was closing down at midnight. At some point, I moved my face closer to him because he was so sweet, and I wanted a kiss, but he avoided me! I thought maybe I was a bit too aggressive.
For a split second I thought it was a kissing moment, but right after, I dismissed the possibility, thinking I was imagining things. It was fun at this bar. I felt relaxed around Jessica. Only when I dropped her back at her place, we ended up kissing, by my motorbike. It was nice. I didn’t expect her to invite me inside; I didn’t have any expectations at all.
I guess I didn’t want the night to end, so I invited him in. We ended up talking nonstop until 4 am! We talked about everything, and I felt comfortable being with him. It was as if I had known him for a long time.
